Welcome to Suggys Champions Foundation

Supporting our Community & Empowering Young People

The new home of Newark Amateur Boxing Club (NABC)

Here at Suggys Champions Foundation we are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in Newark. Our mission is to develop individuals both inside and outside the ring, and make a positive impact in our community. In May 2025 we have rebranded to encompass more fully what we are about as a club and a charity.

Newark Amateur Boxing Club was started with a mission to provide young people with a platform to develop both physically and mentally through the art of boxing. Suggys Champions Foundation will continue this work empowering our members to reach their full potential and become successful in all areas of their lives. Through discipline, dedication, and the support of our coaches, we aim to make a positive impact in the lives of our youth and our community.

Our Youth

Our Legacy

Our Youths deserve a future. They deserve to have a voice that is heard for their story that needs to be told.

We offer a future for them that holds promise, aspiration, a sense of belonging and a sense of community pride.

We will nurture and protect their individuality whilst helping them navigate themselves to the furture they all deserve.

At SCF we are passionate about supporting our local young people at every level. Whether it is through the gym, our schools sessions, our community work or any of the other aspects of Newark life that we are involved in. Our goal is to help every young person become the best version of themselves.

Their Future

Suggys Champions Foundation is a legacy. We will leave a legacy of young people who care about both themselves and their community. Our values of discipline, respect and resilience will be passed down through the generations and through all of the people that walk through our doors.

Our Origins - Newark ABC

Newarks oldest and most successful amateur boxing club

Formed in 2002, Newark Amateur Boxing Club (NABC) is the longest-running club of its kind in the town.

Its members train regularly with the highly experienced boxing coaches at Suggy’s Gym including GB and England Development Coach Dean Sugden.

Boxers are encouraged to train 5 times a week in all aspects of boxing including technical, physical and mental preparation. All boxers and coaches abide by a code of conduct where we hold discipline and respect in high regard.

At Newark Amateur Boxing Club, we believe in the power of boxing to transform lives. Our experienced coaches are passionate about helping young people build confidence, discipline, and resilience through the sport. With a focus on community engagement, we strive to make a difference beyond the boxing ring.

In November 2023 NABC was changed from a not-for-profit club to a recognised charity in England and Wales.

In May 2025 we changed our charities name to Suggys Champions Foundation. However NABC lives on and our boxers continue to box under our banner of NABC with Suggys Champions Foundation sitting as the umbrella charity to help them continue to succeed.
